Column: United sees success in premium service flights

United Airlines in 2004 converted all flights between New York and Los Angeles and New York and San Francisco into a premium service, The Wall Street Journal's Scott McCartney writes. Half of the cabins on the flights are devoted to first- and business-class seats, he notes. Many travelers praise the service, and United Chief Operating Officer John Tague called it "a home run in all perspectives."
