History of cancer raises risk of psychological distress

The risk of serious psychological distress is almost double for cancer survivors, according to U.S. researchers who studied Census Bureau data. The study showed a history of cancer also can impact job opportunities and insurance coverage. Researchers suggested psychological screening be included in standard care given to cancer survivors.
