House may vote today on $5B infusion for highway fund

The House of Representatives could vote today on legislation that would inject $5 billion into a federal trust fund that helps states pay for road upgrades and transit projects. If approved, the additional funding would carry states through the end of September. The White House, meanwhile, supports injecting $20 billion into the fund, which planners say would get states through early 2011.
