New terminal building planned at N.C.'s Shelby-Cleveland airport

Shelby, N.C., is moving ahead with plans for a $1.6 million improvement project at the Shelby-Cleveland County Regional Airport. The project, being paid for partly with a $640,000 grant from the North Carolina Department of Transportation Division of Aviation, will include a new terminal building at the airport to feature modern restrooms and serve as an operations base for employees, as well as an observation room for community visitors and a place for pilots to rest.
