AGC: Traffic delays cost contractors billions every year

Traffic congestion isn't just a commuter's nightmare. Delays caused by traffic congestion cost contractors some $23 billion annually, according to the Associated General Contractors, which surveyed 1,200 construction firms to gather the data. Some companies are finding relief by using GPS technology that lets them discover which routes are affected by construction so that they can re-route vehicles.
