Eaton unveils hydraulic hybrid system in Michigan

Eaton unveiled its hydraulic hybrid propulsion system for four garbage trucks in Ann Arbor, Mich., that it says can cut emissions and fuel costs by up to 30%. The system costs $40,000 for each truck, but the city can recoup those costs within three years because of savings in fuel and maintenance costs, said Mayor John Hieftje.
