Navy puts $100 million into solar-energy projects

The Navy is spending $100 million to develop solar arrays at Navy and Marine Corps facilities in five western states. The Army also is exploring new solar ventures and recently commissioned Hewlett-Packard to develop a Dick Tracy-style solar-powered wristwatch capable of displaying maps and other data.
