Illinois considers $12B, 15-year capital plan to rebuild I-90

Illinois wants to completely reconstruct its Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, also known as Interstate 90, and build a new interchange to connect it with another interstate highway. The board of the Illinois Tollways has recommended a $12 billion, 15-year capital plan that, if approved, could increase toll rates by 35 cents. WIFR reports that "for every $1 billion of annual construction, more than 13,000 shorter-term construction jobs will be created and sustained over the next decade."
