Investors drain money market funds, causing reduced lending

Investors pulled $62 billion out of money market funds in the past two weeks, forcing funds to reduce lending in short-term markets. A leading industry group held a conference call with large Wall Street dealers to set up a procedure for trading U.S. Treasurys if the government defaults.
