Major retailers are targeting college students in their back-to-school marketing in hopes of selling bigger ticket items as consumer cut back -- by as much as 8%, according to a National Retail Federation study. Target has launched a live-streamed faux university dorm that features its goods, Pottery Barn has its own Web platform for its dorm gear, and Wal-Mart is stocking shelves with dorm goodies in local school colors.
