Hotels tout simple rate structures for agents, guests

Booking a hotel room never became as complicated as it can be to book with the cruise line industry, for example, thanks to efforts by hotel firms to keep their rates structures streamlined for travel agents and guests, several industry executives say. The executives add that travel agents continue to be a vital distribution channel for the lodging industry. "Everyone has come to terms with travel agents being important to the industry now and in the future," said Chad Sorensen, principal and managing director with Warnick + Company.
