Keystone XL proponents dispute Obama's Keystone XL jobs claim

Proponents of TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline criticized President Barack Obama's recent remarks that the project will produce far fewer jobs than the 42,100 that the State Department estimated. "A president disparaging private-sector jobs while backstage at a jobs rally is beyond belief," said Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich. "I think as he continues to make these comments that refer to jobs, refer to climate, refer to energy security, there's somewhat of an opportunity to leave the door open ... to more studies, perhaps, to more reconsideration," said Matt Koch, vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for 21st Century Energy.
