Omnicom-Publicis merger would create world's biggest ad agency

New York's Omnicom Group and Paris-based Publicis Groupe plan to merge into Publicis Omnicom Group, which would become the biggest advertising firm in the world, with market value greater than $35 billion. Shareholders of both firms would hold an approximately 50% stake under the all-stock deal. The combination is intended to strengthen the hand of the entity in negotiations with Internet companies and television networks.
