Researchers study potential uses of excess algae from lakes

A group of researchers at the University at Buffalo in New York is developing a system for controlling the buildup of algae in bodies of water and possibly harvesting them to make biofuels or other useful materials. The project is funded by a $30,000 grant from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
