Risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma increases within benzene proximity

Proximity to facilities that release the chemical benzene is associated with an increased risk of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, according to a study in the journal Cancer. Researchers analyzed location patterns of non-Hodgkin lymphoma cases in Georgia from 1999 to 2008 and discovered the risk of developing non-Hodgkin lymphoma fell by about 0.3% with each additional mile from a benzene release site.
