AHLA issues warning to hoteliers about international inquiries

The American Hotel and Lodging Association is warning hoteliers about international requests for free amenities, items with logos and property brochures. AHLA has determined that the requests may be efforts to gather intelligence. The Department of Homeland Security has investigated e-mails requesting brochures, pens, writing pads and other complimentary items and does not believe they pose a dangerous threat.
