Auction could shift wireless playing field

The wireless landscape could be headed for a dramatic shift once the upcoming government auction for wireless spectrum is completed. Not only are newcomers such as Google planning to take part in the auction, but also FCC Chairman Kevin Martin has indicated that he'd like to see the winners of the auction provide open access to other devices and services.
