CIA confronts Pakistan over intelligence agents' militant links

A senior U.S. intelligence official traveled to Pakistan this month with evidence Pakistan's intelligence forces are maintaining close ties with militant groups believed responsible for a recent upsurge in violence in Afghanistan. The U.S. is looking for Pakistani authorities to assert stronger control over intelligence personnel.
