Eco-friendly precast-concrete process could reduce emissions

Canadian company Carbon Sense Solutions has come up with an eco-friendly way to allow precast concrete to store carbon dioxide to reduce emissions and eliminate the need for heat or steam in the manufacturing process. The technology is said to be still unproven, but work is set to begin on a pilot plant in Nova Scotia, and, if successful, the technology could cut as much as 20% of all cement-industry carbon dioxide emissions, the technology's developer says.
