HP, Intel, Yahoo! team up for cloud-computing project

A new research consortium is being created by technology giants Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Yahoo! to develop "cloud-computing" projects that can facilitate the simultaneous running of online services for billions of users. The companies are linking up with academic researchers in the U.S., Asia and Europe to craft an experimental network to test-run the projects.
