West Texas hospital plans expanded maternity, neonatal care

Midland Memorial Hospital in West Texas will begin construction next year on $140 million in facility upgrades, including a new patient tower. Improvements will include innovations in nursing care -- such as telemetry beds that allow monitoring of patients' vital signs from the nursing station -- and an entire floor devoted to postpartum, nursery and NICU care.
