Are Teach for America educators replacing veteran teachers?

The Teach for America program has grown despite the economic recession and widespread teacher layoffs, leading critics to say the younger graduates are taking jobs away from teaching veterans. "These are people who have been trained, who are experienced and who have good evaluations, and are being replaced by brand-new employees," said Boston Teachers Union President Richard Stutman. A Teach for America spokeswoman said the notion is a misconception.
