Companies putting their money into WOM marketing

Spending on word-of-mouth marketing hit $1.54 billion last year, led by a 14.2% surge in spending on buzz, influencer, community and viral marketing. PQ Media forecasts an additional 10.2% increase in word-of-mouth spending this year, but notes that it still comprises a small fraction of overall ad and marketing budgets.
