Minority users tap into mobile Web

The number of black customers who use mobile devices to access the Internet jumped from 12% two years ago to 29% in 2009, and the number of English-speaking Hispanics who used their smartphones to surf the Web over the same period went from 18% to 29%, the Pew Internet & American Life Project is reporting. In contrast, the number of white consumers using the mobile Internet grew from 9% to 17%, the survey found.
