S&P notes concern about possibility of further Boeing production cuts

Weakened air traffic and a concern over airline order deferrals and cancellations have caused Standard & Poor's to downgrade the creditworthiness of Boeing Co. from A+ to A. "The downgrade reflects concerns about the possibility of further production cuts due to airline-order deferrals and cancellations, risks related to the development of the midsize 787 jetliner, which is two years behind schedule, and the potential for higher customer financing needs," S&P credit analyst Christopher DeNicolo said Wednesday.
