Bond manager Pimco emerges from downturn stronger than ever

Pacific Investment Management, known to most investors as Pimco, is one of the biggest and best known bond-fund managers in the world. After emerging from the global economic downturn stronger than it was at the beginning, the company is now moving into equities. A few analysts express reservations about Pimco's tampering with a winning formula, but CEO Mohamed El-Erian isn't worried. "As long as we deliver performance, we'll get larger," he said.
