Emotional abuse harms children, report warns

Emotional maltreatment may be the most prevalent form of child abuse, but it receives little attention compared with physical or sexual abuse, according to a report by the American Academy of Pediatrics in the journal Pediatrics. The report calls for care providers to inform parents about emotional abuse and to help families at high risk.
