Driver turnover is challenge to food supply chain as production increases

As food production increases, driver turnover "is a constant challenge" for the supply chain "and will be in the foreseeable future," said Beth Ford, chief supply chain and operations officer for Land O'Lakes. The recovering economy has led to an increase in trucking prices, and warehousing prices are beginning to rise as well, added Ford, who is on the panel of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals' State of Logistics Report. Meanwhile, fuel is expected to remain relatively stable for a couple of years, Ford said, thanks to shale gas.
