Farewell, overpriced hotel minibar

Say goodbye to the hotel minibar -- many hotels are getting rid of them. While guests gripe about the prices, hotels say that many of the bars with sensors still get ripped off. "It isn't only the steep markups — $7 for a bottle of water that should cost only $1 -- that bothers guests. It's the lengths to which some resorts will go to collect minibar revenues," writes Christopher Elliott.
