Google says devs can test Glass projects with Android SDK

Google is telling would-be developers of Glass that they can start testing native applications with Android 4.0.4 until the Glass Development Kit is ready. Google's software development kit for 4.0.4 "offers API access to Glass' low-level hardware, such as the accelerometer, features to render OpenGL graphics, stock Android UI widgets and more," Liam Tung writes. In addition, the first round of Glass beta testers, Glass Explorers, can invite friends into the testing program. The company is also hoping developers exploit Nexus 7 tablets and Android 4.3 mobile operating system to bolster the games category on Google Play, described as "on fire" in an Android developers blog.
