Intermodal rail activity rises at Ga. ports in fiscal 2013

Intermodal rail movement at Georgia's ports posted record growth in fiscal year 2013, according to the Georgia Ports Authority. A total of 314,623 containers were transported through rail service, which is 4,600 more compared to fiscal 2012. "Our overall tonnage increase has been fueled by the strength of U.S. exports and the GPA’s varied cargo spectrum,” said Curtis Foltz, GPA executive director.
