Minn. district uses gardening to connect math, science, nutrition

Columbia Heights Schools in Minnesota have hired a science and garden specialist to help students connect science, technology, engineering, arts and math subjects to an urban garden being planted and harvested in the district. The project starts with the designing and planning of the garden and continues through planting and maintenance, then harvesting and cooking.
