NASA plans to introduce 3D printing in space

3D printing in space could prove to be a life saver on future space missions. However, applying the technology in a weightless environment is a good deal more complicated than on Earth, according to this article. The Singularity University at NASA Ames research center in Silicon Valley has now met that challenge with a printer due to arrive at the International Space Station next year.
