Pose updates app with in-stream ads, but rejects banners

Fashion application Pose has reached the 2 million registered user mark and has begun monetizing the app with advertising, Lauren Indvik writes. The app is running in-stream ads that appear native -- using the same posing style as user-content uploads -- for Juicy Couture Fragrances and eBay Fashion, among others. "We wanted to build [ads] into the stream, to make them more integrated and actionable," CEO Dustin Rosen says on the decision to eschew banner ads.
