Why new jobs data could mean bright future for community colleges

A recent study from the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce shows 65% of jobs by 2020 will require some college education, but not necessarily a bachelor's degree, Tom Snyder, president of Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, writes in this blog post. This is good news for community colleges, which are adept at offering certificate programs and associate's degrees in the areas -- including health care, community services, information technology, plus science, technology, engineering and math -- in which these jobs are expected to be concentrated, Snyder writes.
