Pilot projects to assess possible chemical regulatory cooperation in TTIP

Negotiators for the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership have agreed to launch two pilot projects -- one on chemical prioritization and the other on classification and labeling -- to assess the possibility of collaboration using existing processes. The pilots cover priority areas for both U.S. and EU industry stakeholders, the American Chemistry Council said. "As the negotiations move forward, it will be important to define the 'landing zone' for the particular areas that chemical regulatory co-operation can be improved," it said.
