Brazil's Lula sees WTO talks resuming after elections:

Disbanded talks on a new global-trade regime may get renewed life after elections in the U.S. this year and India next year, Brazil's president said. Nine days of negotiation at the World Trade Organization ended this week at an impasse over the levels of agriculture subsidies and tariffs on industrial goods. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said it was not surprising that the U.S. would defend the interests of its farmers, with an election coming in November.
