Central banks move to boost liquidity

Markets were boosted on Wednesday as the U.S., European and Swiss central banks all extended emergency lending facilities for investment banks. The central banks also expanded other liquidity programs to ease stress on credit markets. The latest action also suggested the Fed is unlikely to raise interest rates in the near term, some analysts said.
