Commodity official seeks independent study of oil futures

Amidst new legislation proposed in Congress limiting oil speculation, a Commodity Futures Trading Commission official called for an independent study into the issue. The official agreed that futures trading was affecting the markets, but said the extent of the effect should be investigated by an independent commission to avoid political spin.
