Babbitt gets warm welcome in Oshkosh

FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt visited AirVenture for the first time on Thursday, finding a warm welcome among the aviation enthusiasts happy to see one of their own as the nation's top aviation regulator. Babbitt promised to intervene with the TSA to ensure that GA security regulations are not too heavy-handed, and he sought to reassure pilots that NextGen can be implemented without onerous user fees. "But at the end of the day I think we will find a way to continue to support the great system we have [without user fees]," he said.
