"Clean the banks," IMF tells eurozone governments

The International Monetary Fund has recommended that the governments of the 16 countries using the euro take a "more proactive approach" to cleaning up banks' problems. Taking swift action to deal with vulnerabilities in the financial system will bring about a "more robust" recovery, said Marek Belka, director of the IMF's European department.
