Detroit keeps bus attendants who help children with special needs

Detroit Public Schools has decided against laying off 159 bus attendants who help students with special needs. Parents strongly opposed the plan to lay off three-fourths of the attendants. The district planned to save $5.8 million with the layoffs, but said it is clear the services are needed.
