Many women with HIV fail to get Pap tests, survey shows

HIV-positive women are at higher risk for developing cervical cancer but a survey of 2,417 women found 23% had not had a Pap test in the previous year. Older age and poor immune system function were independent predictors for not being tested. Researchers said preventive care for women who are ill may not be a high priority.
