Stimulus grant helps Kansas airport expansion take flight

With the help of an $832,000 federal stimulus grant, the Salina Airport, in Salina, Kan., is getting a new ramp that represents the first phase of a larger redevelopment plan designed to transform the airport into an expanded aviation service center. Officials say they hope the improvements, which could include at least five large new hangars and about a dozen smaller buildings, will attract companies to perform aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul work at the airport.
