Texas teacher is honored for high-tech approach to teaching

A third-grade Texas teacher was named the International Society for Technology in Education's outstanding teacher of 2010 for her commitment to classroom technology. Karen Rose shows her students how to create digital portfolios of their work and use videos, podcasts, animation and other technology to complete 50 high-tech projects throughout the year. Rose's husband, Doug Valentine, a school librarian, was named the Association of Texas Professional Educators' special-services educator of the year for 2009-10.
