Tanzania plants will make ARM largest cement producer in region

Athi River Mining plans to begin production in its two Tanzania plants in early 2012, the Kenya-based cement maker said. The company invested more than $145 million in the construction of the plants. Their combined capacity of more than 2 million tons will make ARM the largest integrated cement producer in the sub-Saharan African region, where ongoing infrastructure upgrades are expected to increase the demand for cement.
