Wall Street scrutinizes S&P's decision to suspend CMBS ratings

Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and other investment banks are frustrated by the decision of Standard & Poor's to suspend its ratings of commercial mortgage-backed securities. S&P cited an issue in the review process. "The manner in which S&P took its action has severely eroded investor and issuer confidence in its ratings. Such an event is unprecedented within the CMBS market," Morgan Stanley analysts wrote.
