Poll: 2/3 favor Medicaid expansion, but with reservations

Two-thirds of Americans support expanding Medicaid eligibility, but only 49% support expanding it in their own state where taxpayers must eventually foot a portion of the bill, compared with 43% who think their state's program should be left as it is, according to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll. A majority also oppose the Affordable Care Act's mandate to carry health insurance, regardless of whether the penalty for not having insurance was described as a tax (61% against) or a fine (66% against).
