A4A SVP: It's time to draw the line on Abu Dhabi

07/31/2013

Airlines for America Senior Vice President Sean Kennedy discussed the Department of Homeland Security's misguided decision to establish a Customs and Border Protection preclearance facility in Abu Dhabi, while passengers at U.S. airports continue to face up to three hour customs waits. "By opening up a facility in Abu Dhabi, we are ironically making it easier and faster for people to enter this country through Abu Dhabi than through San Francisco International," Kennedy told KGO-AM radio. "If we want to get those international travelers coming back to San Francisco, spending those dollars, we need to make sure that the first thing they don't experience when they arrive in San Francisco is a one-hour to three-hour wait with their little kids."
