DOD negotiates for 71 F-35s, with cost cuts

In a deal that may be worth $7 billion, the Pentagon will order 71 more F-35 joint strike fighter jets from Lockheed Martin, after an agreement was reached that lowers the costs of the planes. The 4% cost reduction allows the purchase to avoid a sequestration hit.
